Morristown & Erie Railway Inc.

The Morristown & Erie's passenger fleet includes coaches, parlor cars, observation cars, dining cars, lounge cars, and executive business cars.  Our fleet is constantly growing.

Here is a limited sampling of the cars available for charter.

OHIO RIVER

The Ohio River is an example of an "Observation Car".  It has rooms for meetings and entertainment,

four bedrooms to sleep eight guests and a formal dining room served by a full galley.

And, of course, there's the traditional open rear platform for an exhilarating ride.

The M&E owns several Business/Observation cars with varying floor plans,

including cars with large lounges and solariums.

MOUNT VERNON

The Mount Vernon is an example of a "Sleeper/Lounge" car.  This car is not owned by the

Morristown & Erie but resides at the M&E's private car facility known as Hanover Park.

The M&E actively markets this and other privately owned cars for charter trips.

This car sleeps twelve guests and has a versatile lounge which can be

configured as a lounge or for casual dining. Mount Vernon can be

 chartered independently or as a companion to any other

car in the Morristown & Erie fleet.

KITCHI GAMMI CLUB

This very unique "Sleeper/Buffet-Lounge/Observation" Car retains the classic appointments

and amenities of the early 20th Century while being operationally state-of-the-art.

Sleeping "sections" convert to table space during the day.  A private bedroom is

also available and the solarium lounge offers deluxe seating.  Meals are

 prepared in the full kitchen.  Truly a classic for a family vacation, a

group outing or a business meeting on the (rail)road.

ALTA LAKE

The Alta Lake is a traditional 48 seat railroad dining car.  The forty foot long galley is capable of producing

full meals to serve the guests aboard this car as well as it's mate, the table car, "Birken".

  Together, the cars can handle seatings of one hundred six guests at one time.

These cars are currently serving in our Maine Mid-Coast excursion service.

A comparable dining car is available for individual charter service

The Morristown & Erie can also provide complete excursion trains for special events

with guest capacities up to 150 people.
