The US Postal Service's Celebrate the Century Express arrived in Whippany on Sunday night, September 17 and was be open to the public on Saturday, September 23 Sunday, September 24.  In addition to the display train, there was train rides, activities, food, and fun for the entire family.  The train consisted of:

GE Genesis P42 Locomotive Amtrak 100

 

Baggage Car #1252, which holds the outdoor displays and equipment for the train.

 

Coach #21044, which houses the multimedia Celebrate the Century displays and educational exhibits.

 

Railway Post Office #36, which has been completely restored to show a typical car of its era.

 

The Kitchi Gammi Club, which is a restored passenger car from the golden age of rail travel.
